Ellie was one of the young women in my ward. She is as talented as she is beautiful, and always a joy to be around. I had so much fun capturing her “Queen Birthday” and hope she truly felt like one!

McClaines: Family Session at McPolin Farmstead (Park City)
The McClaine family was so much fun to be around! They made my job super easy, kept me laughing the whole time, and were naturals in front of the camera. It was an honor to capture their family, especially since they all live in different states.
Alli: High Fitness One Year Anniversary Session in Orem/Provo
I have known Alli since we were little girls, we were baptized on Halloween together. I love seeing the joy High Fitness has brought her and feel like she is the real Alli when she teaches. This shoot was probably the most fun I have had taking photos. I loved it! Happy One Year Higher, Alli!
Emma: In-Home Newborn Session
My sweet neighbors had an adorable baby girl and asked me to take some photos of her in their home. Babies are truly the easiest to photograph because everything they do is cute and photo worthy. Emma is absolutely darling and she was so sweet the entire session.
Jessica: Graduation Session at the Utah State Capitol
Jessica graduated in April with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. I am positive she is the absolute best nurse for her patients and that they adore her. I would feel lucky to have her as a nurse. We had fun at the capitol under the beautiful blossoms.
Beckham: One Year Session at Light Loft Studio
Beckham is the cutest little one-year-old. He made my job super easy by being happy with a big grin on his face the whole session. It was super fun to capture him smashing and eating his cake. And of course, we had to include Mom and Dad in a few of the shots.
Simmons: Family Session at Hello Audrey Studio
I grew up playing soccer with Gill so it was nice to see her again and to be able to capture her little family. It was my first time doing a studio session so I was really excited and happy with the way it all turned out. Her family is absolutely darling and they were so fun and easy to photograph.
Pre-Session Do’s
There are a few things that I’ve learned as a photographer that I have now made sure to do before being the one that is photographed. While editing we get a little up close and personal so here’s some tips you can apply to make your photographer’s life a little easier:
- Clean your ears before your session. I have had to edit out wax before and although it’s not too difficult to do it is a little unpleasant.
- Brush your teeth before your session. Again, even though it’s not very difficult to edit that piece of whatever you last ate it’s also kind of unpleasant. Also if wearing lipstick, check your teeth to make sure it’s not on them.
- Iron your clothes. Even if this is something you never do (guilty) it’s worth it for pictures that you are probably going to display in your home and/or post on social media.
That’s all I can think of as far as making things easier for editing. Other suggestions I would include are:
- If you have little kids/babies leave bring their outfits to do the shoot and put them in them there. Babies spit up in the car and we all know toddlers seem to make a mess out of nothing. Also, bring snacks or their favorite toy to keep them happy in between shots.
- Bring props! It makes things unique for your session and represents things that are unique about you.
- ALWAYS arrive early. If you’ve never been to the location before it gives you time if you get lost or allows you to do those last minute hair and makeup fixes. Plus it allows the photographer to use all the time agreed to. If you’re late then those are precious poses/pictures that you could potentially lose out on.
- Relax, be yourselves, and have fun! Pictures are supposed to be enjoyed (husbands wink wink) and cherished forever.
Bomans: Family Session at Silver Lake
The Boman family is absolutely darling. They have a sweet, little, toddler boy with the cutest little curls and best grins and made my job easy. We just walked around Silver Lake and did some posed pictures and some of them just interacting together. I love how these turned out!
Howells: Family Session at Farmington Pond
I am lucky enough to be related to this beautiful family, Audrey is my husband’s sister. They live in Delaware so it is always a treat when they come to visit. They are super easy going and always up for an adventure. It was a huge joy to see them add another little boy to their family a year ago after struggling with infertility for over 3 years. We had a fun afternoon capturing their little family.
